Assange.

Posted: December 10, 2010 in Uncategorized

There has been much controversy over the past few months over Julian Assange and the website he founded “WikiLeaks.”  WikiLeaks “http://213.251.145.96/”  a website that acquires Classified Government documents from anonymous contacts. After confirming the documents are in fact original and real, they get posted for the world to see. Recently, Julian Assange aquired over 250,000 classified U.S. documents. Governments all over the world were after him to put an end to his releasing of the Top Secret documents. Sarah Palin even said “use all necessary means to hunt him down like an Al-Queda terrorist.” Why? All he’s doing is releasing classified documents that our government has been keeping from us. Our government is at fault from hiding everything, Julian is just exposing the truth. He went on to say that if he is arrested, assassinated, or if his WikiLeaks site gets taken down, his followers will release the 256 key encrypted password to open all of the 250,000+ files. Assange is calling this his “Doomsday plan” “Poison Pill” and his “Insurance Policy.” It is said that over 10,000 websites have this file and it is up on torrent websites everywhere for the average person to download. Assange challenges our government to break into the file to see what he has. Assange was just recently arrested in London while he was in hiding. Apparently he was arrested for rape. A while back, he had sex with two girls in Sweden. They wanted him to use a condom and he didn’t so now they’re “trying” him for rape. It seems as if they’ll do anything to keep him locked up to stop from releasing more classified information when really, its going to get much worse. If he is found guilty and is not released, I fear his followers/co-workers at WikiLeaks will release the password to the world exposing the truth. He’s wanted in many many countries because of this event. Assange even went on to say that the next batch of files to be released will be about UFO’s, the Roswell, New Mexico incident, and Alien contact. Something extreme must be happening if our government is doing whatever they can to stop him from releasing the information that they’re keeping from us. Our country was founded upon freedom. Keeping/stopping someone from telling the truth (especially seeing as how he’s a journalist and has the right) is entirely unjust. If all of this information is released and right now, its looking as if it will be, soon, I fear major war will start. Possibly even World War III. If our government wanted what’s best for our country, they should just tell us the truth and stop trying to deceive us with lies.

The Juice.

In the article “The Juice (Hooray for Puns)” by John Canfield he talks about his extremely athletic, smart, and down to earth friend Derek Gardella. I for one completely agree with John. I agree with John because I’ve known Derek Gardella since I was in Kindergarden. He’s always been a friend of mine even if we never hang out. I can walk by him in the hallway and say hi and he’ll gladly say hi back. People may think that just because he’s a jock he can be a rude, not friendly person. Derek is the complete opposite. He’s friendly to everyone and is extremely friendly to everyone. I know he’s kind because we can have a friendly conversation even though we’re not close friends or really talk to each other. It seems he never really has anything bad to say about anyone. Anyone could say hi to him and get a nice hello or hi back. Derek Gardella is an all around great guy.

Veganism

After reading the article “Vegan” by Shelby Pinckney, I can say that I both agree and disagree. In this article, Shelby talks about what it is like to be a vegan. Things you eat, don’t eat, and why. I agree with what she says about non-vegans. For example, she says “You bite into a juicy hamburger, blood dripping down your chin, animal flesh being ripped apart and squished between your teeth, possible E. Coli polluting your G.I. tract.” That’s all true. Only thing is: I don’t care. I do agree how disgusting some of these things can be, but I eat what tastes good. It just so happens that to me, meat, milk, cheese, and chicken all taste good to me. Therefore, I will eat them. Everyone’s entitled to their own opinion and while I do respect her opinion, I disagree.

Happy Meals.

After reading the article “No More McDonald’s Happy Meals for Kids in San Francisco” by Ariel Schwartz I can say I strongly disagree. It should be entirely up to the parents what their children eat. The parents buy the food, not the kids. Its unfair to the kids who don’t often eat high calorie food. It’s unfair. Period.

iPhone 4

Posted: December 3, 2010 in Uncategorized

I am OBSESSED with Apple products. I really want the iPhone 4 but I’m going to wait for iPhone 5. The iPhone 4 was great, it brought many features. Many of those features can be improved. The iPhone 5 should have a better front and back camera, better battery life, iOS 5 operating system and many other features. I can’t wait for June/July when it comes out. I should get it for college to replace my iPhone 3GS.

The Draft.

I agree with Nick in his article: ”The Pro Sports Draft Dilemma: Are Age Limits Harmful or Helpful?” I agree with Nick because it should entirely be the players decesion whether or not he or she has to go to college. Especially if players could get away with moving to a different country. The age at where players can be drafted should  be entirely up to the player.

The Draft.

I do NOT agree with the draft policy. This is America, a country founded on freedom. Being forced to do something you don’t want to do doesn’t sound like freedom to me. I do not believe anyone has the right to make you do something you don’t want to do especially when your life could be on the line. I do however agree with the age being raised to 21 in order to sign up for the military. 18 Year-Olds are immature. As much as we think we are immature, we’re really not. There are some 18 year olds that are mature enough. It really all depends on how you were raised. If you can go into the military at 18 but can’t drink until you’re 21, then they NEED to raise the age of joining the military to 21. If you can die for your country, you should at least be able to drink.

Bush/Obama.

I agree that President Bush was a horrible President. However, I do not think President Obama is much better. I feel like President Obama keeps making empty promises.
